ii survived it man! super fun =)) well, at least for me hehe. actually ii blogged in the afternn about it lers, but the stupid blogger just had to screw up and deleted this really really really really long post =.- den ii was so pek chek pfft. haha.

but wells, hope it works this time round and yup. the famine camp really gave lots of insight as to how other people who really need our help survive ordeals, trying to be strong. as you noe, in singapore, we're sorta quite self-sufficient. den we take everything for granted. going on a 30-hour fast (not to eat) and engaging in various activities heightens our knowledge as to what people that really need our help go through every day.

in singapore, many of us have a proper home, good food, the ability to go to school and everything. yea. and you say, yea, stop preaching to us about this and that other people in other countries are suffering, we already noe that. Yes. indeed we already know that but what are we actually doing? nothing much don't you think. each and every one of us can do even just a little to help, for no effort is too small. well. think about it.

actually, the camp would have reflected alot of things through the activities. well, ii shall sorta like describe the camp in brief:

so 17th jun (sat), reached SAJC early to register. haha. ii think ppl sorta realise ii was there and were like hmm. hahaha =X i'm still trying to hide my presence. well then. registered and got a tag and then we went for lunch b4 the fasting starts at 2.

when the fasting started, we engaged in this simulation activity which was sorta tedious and tiring la. ii will continue to blog bout it haha. so the simulation encompassed 3 'days' each spanning about 2 hrs.

so on day 1, disaster struck. so we were like all separated from our families. my family name's Yakima haha, name's so cute la hahaha still got 'Ya' like 'yang' and the 'ya's dat ii always say. okays random =.- well then. so each of the family members have to report to evacuation centres. my family had 13 ppl la. then the dad (i'm not the dad luckily haha) would have to go around everywhere to gather up the family.

this simulation was sorta like to let u experience, even just a little, wad it's like during a disaster. people have to wait for long hours just to register at evacuation centres and families have to take like days to reunite. the whole process is very tiring and while waiting for ur family member, you would be like super anxious like, eh, faster leh.

haha, our father was like quite pissed cos the procedures of getting the child was super irritating la haha, see, luckily i'm not the dad hee.

well, in the end, we still did manage to round up the entire family (skipping a few details haha) and well, proceed on to 'day 2' =)

well, in day 2 and 3, we got to noe our family members (which is our groupings throughout the camp). gosh ii love my family can =) at least we weren't very dead =.- oh. did ii mention sheena went too! hahaha den she quite sad cos her group/family not that nice la haha.

back to day 2 and 3. so we had to like earn money by doing work at various stations and like hav to earn enough to buy materials to build a house for 13 ppl to live in and on top of that. we needed another $65 dollars! woots. dat means we needed to earn like around $90!! in like 4 hours la =.- as in the money's simulated money la haha but. ya it's still damn hard to earn.

like a job takes around 20 mins to complete and u only earn like $5. taking into consideration time for queuing up for the job and everything you can't possibly earn $90 in like 5 hrs?? woots. so we were like so desperate la. similarly, this is to let u experience the situations people in poor countries encounter. they were in desperation and thus, would resort to any measures just to earn money.

one of the stations was prostitution =.- haha funny. so like. it was so profitable la. like 5 min $12! woots. so like we really just had to resort to such measures to earn our money sigh. ahah in e end alot of ppl in our family came down with simulated 'AIDs'. pfft. luckily it was just hugging onto a pole for prostitution. now get wad ii mean by extreme situations require extreme measures?

and we like totally stole stuff la. hahaha. but it's harmless stealing la, so still ok.

well, besides earning of the money. we still had to build ourselves a shelter fit for 13 ppl woots. that's like really hard haha. in the end, we did manage to build a nice home and ii think we're really proud of it la! other than stealing 2 tables and a chair for it =.- hahahahhaa we were full of vices man hahaha.

but well, all in all, 17th jun the Real day 1 was simply fun =)) so yupp, after which, we tried to sleep at 12 =.- guys in our 'home' that we built and the girls in the parade square lar. so it's like under no roof yea. luckily it didn't rain. den ii was like sleeping at the grand stand cos ii thot THOT it would be more comfortable. but the stupid floor was like uber hard la =.- zzz and did ii mention dat the GIRLS dat sneaked into the area were CHAO noisY!? wat the hell. they were like laughing squealing etc. and up till 1.30am still havent sleep =.-

so haha, decided to call sheena to come over (sneak over) and we like chatted till 2.30 den decided to sleep cos it was less noisy then. so like dozed off and woke up at 5.30 the next day and well, had to go wash up and everything and prepare for another day!

well, 18th jun was sorta doing like CIP la, we went tampines to collect newspaper. ii tell ya, my family's super good la, damn efficient hahaha. =)) we like completed our 8 blocks of newspaper collection way before time ended. so we were like rotting and waiting for the lorry to load the TONS of newspaper and clothes we collected and our bus to fetch us back to SAJC haha.

haha den got ppl from the houses dat ii collected papers from ask for signature la. den joshua (our papa, collecting newspaper with me la) was like laughing =.- pfft. it's not funny

hmm.. after the collection. nothing much la, the entire 30 hrs ended with an hr's concert. haha, talking bout the concert. Joi Chua was there mahs. den as she was singing and walking down the isle she like spotted me den she went 'eh! is you arh!' in chinese la hahaha, den like sorta made my presence known to the entire camp XD ouch. luckily it was end of camp la so haha, still alright =))

after the 30th hour, we broke fast together and had burgers to eat =)) yay! haha burger king never tasted so nice before l0ls. hmm den went home and slumped in bed lor durh! hahaa

seriously, all in all it was just loads and loads of fun!
